Stalling when I stop

Asked by Dec 09, 2013 at 12:45 PM about the 2005 Volkswagen Golf GLS 1.9 TDi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Golf TDI stalls whenever I stop.  It starts right back up but?  I have already
changed the fuel filter and it doesn't make a difference if it is hot or cold.   I have also
recently replaced the transmission.

Let's check the health of the ignition system....if we can...could it be that the engine tilts such that is shorting one of the high voltage wires and makes it go kaput? I'd look at the geometry of the high voltage and take a floorjack to see if the motor mounts are not pulling the high tension into a shorted condition~

The motor mount is missing! Thank you so much, I will have that taken care of immediately and will post my results.

OK, so the no longer with the company mechanic, said there was a missing motor mount. The head mechanic replaced the belt tensioner and and it was fine for a moment. Took it to to get the headliner replaced yesterday and it started cutting off every time I let my foot off the gas? Any ideas?
