I have a vw golf 1994 automatic wont start

Bought a new battery for it drove it
from Melbourne to Geelong no probs
then next day wouldn't start just
makes a clicking noise .also the
speedo won't work any ideas any help
please thanks

The (+) & or (-) battery cables or battery post connectors are probably corroded. Bend the cables & see if they are stiff, the corrosion "wicks" through the cable, next check your starter & selinoid relay, assuming your battery is OK & taking a charge, & fully chargedalways have your alternator output checked too.

We got the car started by jump starting it from starter motor to the battery and car runs great but still wont start with the key? so looks like something electrical but not sure maybe a relay any help wld be great.
