I was driving in fifth in my '03 dodge 2500 5.7l and it suddenly went out. When I try to shift into it. It goes in the slot but does nothing. All the other gears are working just fine. please help

No doubt something let go inside the tranny, as the other gears work normally I would say that the gear itself went bad. Will need to be overhauled. Try not to drive too much until you can get it fixed, all those little metal pieces are floating around in the transmission lube and can totally ruin the entire transmission then the cost increases. If you have to drive it then drain out the contaminated lube and refill it with clean stuff, but it will still have to be overhauled.
