Ford Explorer Sport Trac fuel reset. It is not the cutofff switch.
The fuel reset light is on on the instrument cluster and the truck cranks but won't start. The fuel cutoff switch button is NOT up. I thumped it with a screwdriver handle to make it pop then pushed it down again.
I've also removed it and tested its continuity in both positions. The switch is fine. Disconnecting the battery for a long time changed nothing. There are no trouble codes stored except P1000. I've used FORScan and IDS software, no problems shown.
What else can cause the fuel reset to trip? I just changed the brake booster and it was running before. Everything I had to disconnect to get out of the way of removing the booster has been reconnected? Is there anything connected to or near the switches on the brake pedal that are in the fuel reset circuit?
Does the 2000 Sport Trac have a fuel pump driver module?
