96 E300D anti-theft won't let the car start...

Hello, for the past 2 years my 96 E300D thinks I'm trying to steal it.  Below are some of the things I had done to try and fix.
1. Buy new keyfob
2. disconnect the anti-theft along with a lot of other stuff.
3. Took to the dealer, I think all they did was clear the codes then proceed to tell me that I needed a new board of some sort.
Today after not being able to start the car for 2 months, it started.  The only conclusion I can come up with is that the ambient temperature is much cooler and perhaps it was just too hot in the car?
