where or the roof drains

8-16-19: Water from the convertible top is funneled down to plastic ‘one- way’ drains to the ground, located behind each side air scoop trim. I found YouTube “Cleaning the soft top drain” from ‘TheMR2n00b’, “MR2 roadster MK3 unblocking drainage “ from ‘JFK KARZ’, and “MR2 side vent removal to drain” from ‘MSHARIF911’ helped me understand & fix this problem on my own 2003 MR2. Once the side scoop pieces are removed (with the help of a plastic -NOT metal! putty knife or auto trim pry tool) you will see why they clog up. A good LED flashlight Really helps you see into drain nooks +crannies -and no burns from a hot bulb or blinding you while you’re in tight spaces. After washing both drains, vent trims and their pins, I sprayed ‘garage door-type’ dry silicone on the drains & surfaces being snapped back together. Hope this helps. Carl from RI
