2001 Toyota Avalon turned into bucking bull

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2001 Toyota Avalon while driving this morning I noticed a slight buck
of throttle then a few seconds later it did it again but harder I was on a
country road so I pulled over and put it in park and it went away, I knew
something was not right,  so I knew I just needed to get her home. I put it in
drive, and it was going to die but then start the revving again. While driving
feels like I am tapping the gas peddle. At this point, the engine light is on
then starts flashing. There was an O'Reilly's on the way back to the house so
I stopped to see what codes it was running. They hooked it up and said no
codes and the man told me that sometimes it needs to drive so many miles
with the engine light on to pull up the codes. I left to get it home and it
seemed fine, pulled out on to the street and it started revving up on its own
when I did not have a foot on the gas but when foot was on the gas, it would
help some times rev and sometimes it felt like it was cutting out. When the
foot is on the park, it is like riding a bull, it throws you forward then feels like
it is going to die.  At the last stoplight, my mother claimed she might have
gotten shaken baby syndrome from how much the car shaking. I do not have
the codes to go by on where to start and I do not want to chance driving it
anywhere else to run the codes. Anybody idea where to start on getting her
back up and going?

There should be codes , the guy at oriellys is not a mechanic .One reason codes wouldn't be there is the ECU(computer ) is bad . But before you spend god knows how much on that you need diagnosis with a technician ,. But on your own you can Look for any loose or broken vacuum lines or wires , spray some carb. cleaner down the throttle Check some basics , oil , air filter .
