how do i reset my gauges on my dash

Asked by Mar 30, 2014 at 12:55 AM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

i changed my starter and i took the battery a loose and when i start my car the gauges on
dash jumps all the way over and go back like the car is off and the the place where i read
the milage says that the car has no gas i dont know how to reset it
