When the key comes out the car still dings and does not seem to be all the way off. Sometimes I leave the car anyway, will this damage the car?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The wheel seems to have to be in a specific directions, that vary, in order for
the key to come all the way out an the car to turn all the way off.  Sometimes
it is too frustrating to wait so I leave the car with the dinging with the door
open.  Will this cause long-term damage?  I plan on getting it fixed, but it may
be a month or so until I have the money.
