95 Lincoln tc burning oil

I have a 95 town car with 88,000 miles. I went to do
an oil change on it and found that there was no oil.
It's not smoking

I checked and don't see any leaks. Im going to track my oil and miles. I recently switched over to semi synthetic oil. There's a ticking noise. Sounds like a lifter. I'm going to try an additive to quiet it down
