my car wont start
ok i have a 99 audi a4 quattro 1.8t and a week ago it wouldnt start i got it towed to a shop, it was the timing belt so i got that fixed and the car started fine for a couple days then stopped starting again so i had it towed back to the shop when the mechanic was going to look at it , it started right up he called me 4 hours later and tried it again and it started. so i went to work last night and no problems then this morning it wont start again help !!!
Intermittent problems are the hardest to diagnose for exactly this reason- you will have to leave the car for a few days so the mechanic can replicate the problem- and, my guess is, it prob'ly needed a cam belt anyway- but it is not good that you were led to believe that that would fix your problem-
yep i agree with jam. When a timing belt snaps just about anything can go wrong. if you were driving a v6 you would a blew your heads out of the car. Have them check the cam sensors and get the computer in the car rebooted if you have the code for your stereo.
turned out to be the coolant sensor harness, 1 of the 4 wires had broken off at the base of the harness
