Is the 2023 Audi A4 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Audi A4 earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to solid overall appeal for used shoppers. The overview describes it as a compact luxury sedan that blends everyday usability with a strong technology story, along with a good mix of performance, efficiency, and premium features. It also highlights useful equipment such as Virtual Cockpit, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, plus available quattro all-wheel drive for added traction. The market also shows 39.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Audi A4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the A4 is a well-rounded used buy with premium features and a balanced character, but it also notes that the base engines are underwhelming and the back seat is cramped. That means your ownership experience may depend heavily on the exact configuration and condition you choose. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a lower-spec example that feels less satisfying than the rest of the car’s package suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Audi A4?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or incomplete maintenance. Pay extra attention to equipment level and condition, since the overview notes that older versions of the A4 could have outdated technology and that the back seat is cramped. A careful test drive and a thorough pre-purchase inspection matter most if you want the premium features and balanced driving feel to match the asking price.

What is the 2023 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $27,357 sits slightly below last year's $28,147.

That kind of price movement suggests the A4 has already absorbed some of its early depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the car in strong condition and stay on top of maintenance, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. The current market also shows enough demand to support a used luxury sedan with broad appeal.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,336, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,357 average.
• It feels fresh and modern, with strong tech and a polished driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and deal availability, the 2023 is the better primary choice. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter secondary path and still brings many of the same core strengths.
