Hauling capacity in the bed
Look on the door or door post sticker for the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and subtract the vehicle and occupant weight from the GVWR to come up with what you can haul in the bed.
If it is a Chevy truck, put is much weight in as the tires can hold before popping. LOL of course, go with Bobs answer! Hey there Bob.
Afternoon Rowefast. I am estimating that with 1 occupant he can haul somewhere around 2,000 lbs + or - in the bed depending on how the truck is equipped.
I one time put a hole pallet of cement blocks plus some on my 1966 1/2 ton truck. but I had made solid spacers to put in between the frame and rear axle. Other people just seen the blocks being loaded up onto my truck, so they loaded theirs the same, never the less they could not haul what I did, their bumpers where on the ground. I also had 60 psi in my rear tires. So load er up until the tires pop! LOL.
