I have an audi a4 quattro which i bought 2 weeks ago so
far so good until 5 days ago oil pressure light came on on
yellow so i went to my friend house to change the oil put
10 30 w has 117 k they didn't have the mobil 1 oil filter so i
got what they had the most cheapest thats what all my
autozone or orallys had around 20 miles around where i live
so i just decide to go with that so i change it the same day
that the light went on so when i turn the car on no light
what so ever but yesterday it came on againg going at 55
mph so i made a u turn and head to auto zone to see if it
need it oil the tip it was low so i put in 10w 40 almost a
quart so no oil pressure light is on but when i put the check
button it said oil pressure but now the tip say is in the right
level so i been doing my research so far im soooo confuse
and mad since i just bought this car not trying to take it to
audi just waste of money one thing i know there were some
oil receduce where you pour the oil wet receduce it was
like butter type of thing but it was just oil so i clean it and
pour the oil soo i need help when i press the check buttong
the oil pressure comes on with a circle and a X i have a pic

You may want to look up the correct oil viscosity that is to be in your motor. Most engines are running 5W30, and have a sensor that can tell if there is not the right viscosity oil in the engine. I would get a good oil filter also, these places you mention carry WIX oil filters that are good. Also it sounds like the PCV system needs attention, it sounds like there is condensation developing inside the engine.
Rowefast thanks for the info car sounds good no smoke no where oil pressure light is not there anymore but i know it will pop up againg and also can u let me know a little about the pcv system? Do you think if i just drop the oil pan and clean the screen of the oil pump ima start with that than ima go and get the oil pump any more ideas or advice.?
The PC Valve is a one way valve that is located in a valve cover, with a bigger vacuum hose hooked onto it. This then ventilates, fumes and relieves the internal pressures that build up as the engine is running. The system would have a breather element, (filter) to allow air flow threw the crankcase. The air flow threw the crankcase sucks out gasses and condensation that build up. A good indication of condensation is the milky tan, brown build-up that collects under the oil cap. The system is part of the emissions for the engine, and helps prevent sludge build-up. So as far as dropping the oil pan, you would have to have a lot of sludge build-up in order to plug up the oil pump screen. This would happen in an engine that has been totally neglected. Checking the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge is your best bet to determine wear on the bearings, the condition of the engines lubrication system.
