Reverse lights and signal lights nonfunctional on my 1992 t-bird

Asked by Jun 21, 2014 at 02:33 PM about the 1992 Ford Thunderbird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The reverse lights and turn signals (inside indicators and outside) are not working on
my 92 thunderbird. I've checked the flashers and the fuses, I've replaced the turn signal
and hazard light relay, I've replaced the turn signal switch, and I know all the bulbs are
good, but still these lights are not working. If anyone has any idea please help me out,
I'm completely stumped and so is every mechanic I've been too.  I've gotten several
different diagnoses on this problem and no solution yet.

Your backup lights and turn signals are on two separate circuits. The backup light work on a switch from your brake pedal. Use a tester to see if you have contact through your switch. If you do, I would that you may have burned out bulbs. Check out this and get back to me.

Okay so I took it to a mechanic today and it turns out it was something in the steering column. He didn't explain it very well but now my turn signals and my reverse lights are functional.

Great... glad you found the problem.
