Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My light for an Oil Change keeps blinking on only when I am idling . I already had an oil change. What does that mean, It's nerve wrecking when you are waiting for a light to turn green to go and that blinking light a noise is freaking me out.

Is it the change light or the oil pressure warning light? Do you have an owners manual? If so check for the reset procedure after oil change if you can't find it go back to where you had your oil changed and have them reset it and check your oil pressure. Was this happening before the oil change? Some oil filters have enough restriction to cause this, so if it wasn't doing it before change the filter

It was not doing it before, So maybe they did not reset it, I really do not know if it's the pressure warning light or the change light, It's the light that's red and comes up under the little oil can on my dash board, I know I sound like an idiot, I really do not know much about cars and the wording,

Good thing you're here. I think it's your oil pressure warning light. You may want to return to the shop and have them check your oil and then see what viscosity oil they used. You may need to use heavier oil if it's a high mile car. I hope this helps you.

Just get the oil checked if it's low 1 qt. will save your engine until you can afford the whole deal. Just so you know when that lite comes on and stays on it's too late
