Why does my oil light come on when the oil level is fine?

Asked by Feb 04, 2016 at 05:07 PM about the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my engine temp is right in the middle, my oil light will come on then go off. I check my oil and it says its at a good level and I make sure I change my oil when I am suppose to. It only does this when the temp gets to a certain level.

Is the light for oil level or oil pressure? Low oil pressure is a serious problem so get it checked out.

It's just the lil oil light between trunk light and temp light... Not sure if its pressure/ level..

Sorry this my question just replying to the first answer
