Does a PT Cruiser have a built-in fluid catch pan?

Asked by B Jun 16, 2020 at 12:21 PM about the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mechanic told me my Cruiser has a leak. I
always check for leaks on the ground and no
evidence of any fluids.  He said that is because
there is pan that catches fluid.  When I gets to the
point where fluids leak on the ground, it must be
very bad as the drip pan is overflowing.  Is this
FACT or FICTION?

Not 100% about PT Cruisers but there are a lot of vehicles that have skid plates that doubles as a catch pan for small leaks but not for major leaks.

My Mechanic did say that by the time I see fluid droplets on the ground, it's a bad leak. Thanks "brotherben"!!
