My 2003 Ford Expedition is going through a gallon of antifreeze a day, what could be causing this?

Asked by Mar 27, 2015 at 04:56 PM about the 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The problem started slow, we were
having to refill the reserve about
every 3-4 weeks, then suddenly it
was every day!! It has only
overheated one time, and the temp
gage is working properly, from what I
can tell.

check your engine for a blown headgasket! remove oil filler cap and see if it has a milky looking substance on it. Sounds like head gasket blown.
