2006 Lexus IS 250 starter spins fast and car will not start

It sounds like the starter is not engaging. Changed the starter and the car still will not start

I'd hate to think your flywheel is missing some teeth . Maybe the new starter is wrong , If you can take some close measurements from when the spur gear kicks out it may help , sometimes there are flanges to set this , starter is mounted fully to the block ?
