Used 2020 Lexus IS for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2020 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have softened 3.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 453 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2020 Lexus IS blends compact luxury-sedan proportions with a sporty personality, and Lexus positions it as an entry-level model that appeals to younger buyers who want something more driver-focused than purely practical. It also brings useful tech and safety content, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and standard Lexus Safety System+ features. 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Lexus IS is presented as a long-running third-generation model with a reputation built around being fun to drive, and its standard safety and convenience equipment adds to its everyday appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core identity and more about whether a specific example has been maintained well enough to offset its tight rear seat, limited cargo space, and poor fuel economy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus IS?

At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s condition matches the listing. Focus especially on signs of prior bodywork, interior wear, and whether the tech and safety features operate as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 453 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,809, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $26,302 sits slightly below last year's $27,291.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is choosing a clean, well-kept example that stands out from the rest of the listings. Strong condition and documented care matter more when the market is already showing some price pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,913, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,302 average.
• It brings a sharper new-generation design and a more enthusiast-focused personality.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the lower entry price and a solid satisfaction signal. If you can spend more and want the newer-generation feel, the 2021 is the stronger upgrade; if price matters most, the 2020 is the smarter path.
