IMS bearing replacement

I think this is a matter of opinion. I doubt it will need to be done again before the engine is due for a rebuild. I would research this heavily before making a choice. Porsche forums are worth checking out.

The IMS Retrofit has a 6 year or 75,000 mile service interval. Alternatively, the IMS Solution can be used as it is a permanent fix for the Porsche IMS bearing issue and has no service interval. The IMS Solution backdates the IMS bearing to a pressure oil fed plain bearing with no moving parts like the IMS in a Mezger Porsche engine.
