Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10W-30 is the best pil to use, i know its £45 for 5 litres (my differ if your in usa) but it is expencive but well worth its protection, i think 5w-30 is a bit thin tbh, but saying that if you was to by a very expencive race oil ive seen 0w-20 been used before, but its lubrication oil is awsome whats ya driving style, owning a 240sx id say drifting! if so do use a heavier oil as your be putting enigne under 20 x more strain when drifting then just normal driving so 15w-40 wouldnt even be a problem as it will give thicker viscosity when the engine is hotter

ok well thank u and ye balls to the wall style driving so mobil sythetic i dont care bout price i just want good oil

35

you in the uk? mobil 1 is about £45 for 4 litres, so your have to buy 1 litre for 0.6 litres, iirc the 240sx takes 4.6litres, could be wrong

75

no im in the us but ye its pretty expensive here to what u recommand on one i get it runnin when shoul i change the oil first

I have a 1998 KA24DE and I use Mobil 1 10W30. Oil weight most of the time depends in which climate you live in. 20W50 is way too thick to be using on a DOHC engine anyway. If you live in a very hot climate like me(I live in South Florida) use 10W30. If you live in cooler climates, it's good to use something thinner.

ye most my friends who have ka with high milage use 20w 50 is gainesville fl and tampa but ye thanx guys imma de do mobil one 10w 30

The dual cam KA takes exactly 1 gallon of oil, which comes out to about 3.8 liters.

what is recommended? whatever it is use it. they dont just put that on their for fun. if they offer the oil in mobil 1 full synthetic i say use that oil. if they dont then try valvoline full synthetic. those 2 brands make a very good product.

20w50 is way too thick. the factory calls for 5w30. use dino-oil for breakin in the new rebuild then switch to synthetic after 1000 miles.

I used to manage a valvoline. i dont recommend Mobile 1 oil. Valvoline full synth is good. or Royal Purple is good to run. but definitly start out w/ the recommended 5w30, then switch to the synthetic...otherwise you can cause all of your seals to leak.

im just curious by why would you not recommend mobile 1???

she wouldnt recommend mobil 1 coz she managed vavoline, personaly i think valvoline is shot, and also castrol gtx is a very good oil also

well thanx to all imma start with recommanded and use the power proven royal purple my performance shop sell it pretty cheap to me and stand by it

35

good luck, two things you dont skimp on a car oil and brakes! bit pointless asking the qestion if you already had choosen the oil

75

well no i was mainly lookin to see what weight to use and what t use durin the break in

45

Running a valvoline had nothing to do w/ not choosing Mobile 1. we sold mobile 1 all the time. and it actually costed more than the rest..making us want to sell it more. It's just that Mobile 1 is just overrated. but good choice w/ the Royale Purple.
