86 cougar xr7, car was running fine when i park 3 years ago ,now won't start, i have fuel n spark but wont start

Three years is a long time. My first suspect would be a fuel system problem. Varnish in the fuel system, fuel pump not working, injectors not working. My second suspect is critter damage. Squirrels, mice, etc. love to chew up wiring and vacuum hoses on a car that's sitting. Especially if it was stored outside. If you're absolutely sure that you have fuel and spark I'd start carefully checking the wiring harnesses in and around the engine compartment. I'll bet it's critter damage. HTH. -Jim
