I was sent on a wild goose chase by a car dealer in VA and it cost me dearly who can I make a formal complain to and how can I recoop that loss ?

Question type: General

I saw a car listed on your site Carguru, being sold by GN auto sales in Verginia, I spoke to a sales person named allen who assures me the car is in great condition and there is nothing wrong with it. After getting the loan I reached out to Allen from said GN auto who assures me the car was prep and ready to go and would pass VA inspection even though I wouldnt need it. I rented a car for oneway trip, driving from Connecticut to Verginia only to find out the sales person Allen who had promised to be there to close the deal was MIA on the day I was there to pick up the car. I found it starnge but then proceeded to inpsect the car which lead me to believe that this car is possibly a salvage car and there was enough evidence that the car was in an accident, also the car had on four different threads of tire that were mostly worn , the rear seat (back rest) was badly damaged to the point where it wasn't able to stay in its locked up right position .
Having spent an entire day travelling , not to mention the gas the tolls and the renta car, going back and forth only to find out this car was badly dameged , is wicked and someone needs to pay for my expenses.
Pleasev call me @ 860 845 4302 thank you

You could file a complaint with the agency in Virginia that regulates dealers. The only real evidence that you have is the check for the car , the rental agreement and your expenses to get home // that would give some credibility to your story. Also, if you did a VIN# check (CarGuru insists they be posted) and got false information you may get some results. Believe it or not .. many state agencies do get results and add to that this dealer may have had similar complaints filed ... Go for it and good luck
