2007 Lincoln towncar rear air suspension switch turned off and the compressor comes on.

Asked by Charles Feb 03, 2016 at 05:57 PM about the 2007 Lincoln Town Car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Lincoln towncar and the air
suspension pump is constantly coming on
every 5 minutes. So I turned the switch off
that is located in the trunk and the pump is
still coming on, but not as often when the
switch is turned on. I notice when I have
the switch turned on and the pump is on, I
can go to the trunk and turn the switch off
and the pump shuts off immediately. But
when I get back into my car and continue
driving it will periodically come on and go
off. Had bags checked and there were no
leaks. I even changed relay, thought it
might be malfunctioning in some way. Still
having the same problem. Do you think it
could be the height leveling sensor? Would
this sensor cause the pump to come on
even when the switch is turned off?
