Asked by Jan 23, 2008 at 06:19 PM about the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to start my 67 Bug after sitting up for few years, new engine, I thought it was a relay under the hood, called ask imports say no relay.  When I turn key it is making a buzzing sound.  Does anyone know what it is called?  Thanks!

Starter solenoid sounds like it might be your problem.

The starter solinoid should behind the engine on right side of bell housing. Check there.
