Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am trying to change the driver belt on my Golf SDI 1.9. I have the old belt off but am having problems putting the new belt on is there a way i can loosen any of the balls to make it easier to put on & then tighten it back once on. If so how do i do this?

Get a Haynes Manual which will show you the location of the belt tensioner pulley and how to loosen it. There are several types of tensioning systems and you will want to do it correctly otherwise your belt may fly off later.
