Overheating

Asked by LilNikki0016 Feb 03, 2018 at 03:23 PM about the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a chrysler town and country and the hubby
and I have replaced the radiator, the water pump,
and a new engine (due to blown head gasket) and
our van is still running hot and overheating. It
doesn't quite do it as much at a high speed but it
definitely starts to overheat if stopped or in
slow/stop and go traffic. We are thinking that its
just the thermostat now but if we replace that and
it still seems to overheat what else could be the
problem?

does it have an electric fan ? does it come on when it gets hot ? is there a radiator shroud all original ?

Make sure the electric fans work !! Was it a new radiator or a bone yard one ??

The radiator was bought brand new and all hoses that go to it were also repaced. And all fans work also. That's y we are thinkin its jus thermostat time and hopin thats all it is and it'll b fixed cuz after that we are at a loss.

if it's a new engine maybe there's an air pocket in the system , thermostat is cheapest and should have been first but what ever
