1982 K5 Chevrolet Blazer won't start but clicks.

Asked by Lineman24 Dec 08, 2015 at 12:31 AM about the 1982 Chevrolet Blazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1982 K5 Chevy Blazer and I
put a new battery in it, My buddy
tightened the cables for Me while I
was cleaning up and the wrench
slipped and hit the side of the Blazer
and sparked, now it won't start. My
dad hooked the battery to his
charger and fully charged it and it
started right up, but as soon as it
was turned off the clicking and not
starting happened again. There's no
corrosion on the battery terminals or
cables and they are properly
tightened. I've heard it could be the
ground though, anyone know what's
wrong?

When the battery was charged and it was running, how long was it running? How long did it sit? Is it still fully charged now? I'd have it tested

Marquis, it ran for about 10 minutes & it isn't charged now, it has to be jumped to be started.
