got aout mechcanics or engines toyota highlander 2002 a week ago.it is used,had it for a week.check engine light came on tonite.i looked in owners manuel,say take to dealer.do you have any advice......know nothing ab

Most part stores have OBD 2 scanners, for lending, that will read the code and give you an idea of whats wrong... It could be as simple as you didn't tighten the gas cap enough or that there is a more serious problem. No way to tell until you get the code read.
