Question type: General

I have a 2000 sunfire 4dr and there is a button with the window controls in the center

Could be to lock the buttons so your passengers can't put the windows up or down from their seats. Have you checked?

It's not for the windows we tried, my father believes it's an overdrive button like I had in my 99 Nissan but I'm not sure because again the manual shows no information (the Nissan Manual described their OD button) hoping someone on here has the same car and knows the answer..

I think its a window lock. Try again. It may only lock the rear windows so try them when you re-test.

Probably the window lock for the rear windows.
