The 2003 Sunfire is Pontiac's cheapest car. That's probably because it comes with few standard convenience or safety features. Similar to the Chevy Cavalier, but dressed up in sportier attire, the Sunfire is an attractive starter car for young first-time drivers.
The sedan is dropped this year, and so is the GT. The only available 2003 Sunfire is an SE coupe, which now has the 2.2-liter, 140-hp Ecotec DOHC I4 engine that used to be in the GT. This is coupled with a 5-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic. You won't get much in the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire, but its affordability is a big selling point. The standard ABS brakes have been put on the options list this year. Dual front airbags, air conditioning, and new 60/40 split-folding rear seats are standard, but you need to pay extra for power features, keyless entry, a CD player, alarm system, sunroof, and leather wrapped wheel. New options for 2003 include side impact airbags, satellite radio, and Onstar.
On the outside, the front and rear fascias have been restyled. A twin grille with cat's eye headlights lends a sporty look to the Sunfire coupe, along with the standard rear spoiler. Many owners purchase the 2003 Sunfire because it is so affordable as a starter car and it's also a good jumping off point for tuners. They like its sporty new looks and the 24/33 mpg. Initial acceleration is not so great and the cabin feels tight for four adults. Interior materials also make the Sunfire feel bland and cheap.

(22 reviews)I love most things on this car. The interior is crap though. Only 2 of my speakers work and everything rattles.
I have my car going on 5yrs, bought it used. I have had an awesome experience with this car as far breakdowns or repairs. so far so good, nothing major, recent brake job, keep the oil changed regularly, keeps going
nothing wrong with it it has alot of quality. The car handles good, braking is really good. doesnt use alot of gas its ready cheap to fix and it is just a fun car to drive........... i love my car
Manual Baby. 5-speed all the way!!! The manual version of this car is amazing. Not to mention my custom light work on the interior. It gete 40 mpg highway and 33 city. The engine was converted back to a cartrige style oil fliter making oil changes a breeze. Also the clutch master cylinder resoviour is located right next to the breaks for easy access! A tryely awesome car
Pretty good little racer as manual trans, the 2.2 Ecotech is a strong engine when handled properly. Handles and brakes great, smooth shift when engine is at operating temp. Lots of electrical problems, so far, I've had fixed: The tail lights, reverse lights (and they quit again recently), headlights and fog lights (corrosion in the main harness), rear defrost and dash lights.
