the dash lights are all on . the check engine light, anti lock brake light, anti traction light, oil light etc. My husband is a mechanic but has no idea what the cause is. The car works good with no problems. Did all the brakes etc but made no difference

Hi seymour, I would have the trouble codes read from the computer system. This may indicate some sort of issue that is not obvious. If still a problem, remove the dash to make sure all of the wiring to the instrument cluster is adequately connected. Good luck!

Same thing with my Sunfire oil lights and dash lights staying on when car is off nothing ha changed to make this happen but none of the gauges themselves work just the lights

So we have a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, 2.2 litre. Bought the car, used it not even 24 hours later the battery light came on, did a multimeter test, showed the alternator was bad, bought a new one and changed. Worked good for approx a week. Now the battery light comes on and off. When the battery light is on, the wipers are slow, the stereo quits working, when idling the rpm's will drop down and before stalling jump back up, all the lights on the dash will light up (battery, abs, e-brake, airbag etc.), the speedometer and tachometer will quit working also.
