I have a 99 mercury cougar 2.0 L, 5 speed. I have to replace my fuel pump. I just filled up my tank before it went out on me. But i cannot get a hose down all the way into the tank so i can siphon the gas out, is the a security blockage down the tube or is there an easier way of getting the gas out....

You may not need to. Lift up the trunk floor mat and look for a round access panel. My '94 Escort had one under the back seat for just that purpose. HTH. -Jim
