New ignition and key with chip

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know key need to be programmed.But a new
ignition tumbler and chip key.Do I have to program
the car to recognize the new ignition tumbler.

Ok so replaced new key tumbler with chip key .To get it to run I just need to program the chip key to the ignition.Is that right
