usually a hole forms in the condenser and the freon leaks out ,then you're looking at over $500**

I would guess that your car is still under warranty so you should talk to your car dealer.

If it is a parts issue that car should still be under warranty unless it has lots of miles.

30

I have a 2015 Encore with 60,000 miles on it and my condenser formed a hole also and it is costing me 700 dollars at dealer

Manufactures do not design parts to fail.....they just cost reduce them to the point that some do fail prematurely......new cars are covered mostly now for 5 years 60,000 miles. The hole in the condenser might be a cracked solder joint and vibration over time has made it fail. Those types of failures are difficult to find when you are making parts. I suspect new condensors are hooked up to compressed air...maybe as high as 300-400 psi (they may see 250 in operation) then put in a tank of water to see if there are bubbles. no bubbles they pass the test and are shipped to be put into cars.
