I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan. transmission issues
I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan. Approx 160,000 miles on it. In the last 3 months I
have notices that my engine light keeps coming on. When traveling around town under
50 mpr it only jerks once in a while but if I have to go long distance higher than 50 mpr.
It will decide all of a sudden to not let me go above 50mpr. I will try to go over and it will
make a deep humming noise and smells funny. Then after say 5 to 8 min it will all of a
sudden take off fast like it's switching gears. Then I am fine again until I have to slow
the vehicle down and then it's back to square one with the mpr and getting it up above
50. Now if I am only driving it around town for periods of times it will be soso. But if I
have to do a lot of highway driving for a period of time it does it constantly. Any help or
suggestions would be appreciated.
have the car scanned for codes. check spark plugs/wires, o2 sensors, catalytic converter. best bet is to have it scanned that will give you an idea of where to start
