Replace Computer-Controlled Alt Regulator with External?

Asked by bubbah11 Mar 09, 2009 at 03:43 PM about the 1998 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Car Customization

I believe my 1998 Sebring with 2.5L V-6 has a bad engine computer which controls the alternator.  Does anyone know exactly how (and if) I can by-pass the computer and rig up an external voltage regulator?  Many Thanks,
Bubba

Hey, I saw the engine computer on ebay.com for under $100. with the ability to just plug in and go.

Yes you can put a external voltage regulator on. AlternatorParts.com has a kit he sells on ebay for 64.00. His other website is highoutputalternators.com good luck with your issues
