I have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible. Ever since I put new tires on the car, my wife has got two speeding tickets. What is the proper size tire for that vehicle and is there a way to reprogram the computer to match tire size.
Hi fj! First, head over to the Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) where you will find the tire size that your vehicle came with. I don't know if the speedometer can be recalibrated for a different sized tire, but seriously, the size of the tire does not influence the speedometer all that much. The minimal difference shouldn't be enough to throw your wife off unless you have clown tires on your car. Tell your wife to back off the gas! But if you need to continue the quest, drop a dime to your local Chrysler Service Manager and see what he says. Good luck.
Tire sizes can be programmed into the trans computer called pinion factor
if she doesnt want speeding tickets tell her to stop speeding. its not your tires.
Ecm needs calibrated, you need to take it to chrysler for programming
