You might find it on top of the drivers side frame rail, between the firewall and the steering gear box.

I found this - it's supposed to be in both places. "the VIN on a 55' f-100 is on the inside of the glove box door. You may also find it on top of the drivers side frame rail, between the firewall and the steering gear box."

It may also be on the rad support as well as on the driver's door frame. It is likely to be stamped into the metal, and not easy to see, especially if the vehicle has been restored or repainted.

actually I too have a question. does a 1954 F-250 have only 11 digits for VIN?
