Car taking longer than usual to turn on

Asked by Adelaide Nov 24, 2021 at 01:31 PM about the 2008 Honda Civic

Question type: General

I have a 2008 Honda civic and this morning when I went
out to start my car it took a bit longer than usual to start.
When I turned the key the engine turned over a few times
before actually starting. It did get down to 33 degrees last
night and I keep my car in my driveway but it's also gotten
colder than that in the past few weeks and that hasn't
happened. I also got my battery changed about four
months ago

Hello. These could be the reasons: Starter Malfunction. Low Battery Amperage. defective Alternator not properly charging battery. Defective/malfunctioning Fuel pump, fuel pump relay, Fuel pressure regulator. Restricted/clogged engine Air Cleaner. If this sounds too complicated for you, just make sure: Battery is 12.5/12.6V engine off, 13.5-14.1 engine running. if it is a NO: check your entire Starting/Charging System. If it is a yes: Check at engine fuel port for fuel pressure. thanks

I turn the key to the run position and let the system prime , then I start it , give it a try .
