The RAV4 is unchanged for 2007, except for the addition of side and side-curtain airbags to the list of standard safety features. The RAV was all new for 2006, with a new platform and larger body. The RAV4 series serves as the lowest-priced entry point for a long lineup of Toyota SUVs.
This is the base RAV4, offering the lowest price of all twelve 2007 models. The series is priced to compete with small SUVs like the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe, the Ford Escape, and Mazda Tribute, but the RAV can get pricey as more luxury features are added. The base model comes equipped with power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, privacy glass, a CD player, and 16 inch wheels. Optional upgrades include daytime running lights, an in-dash CD changer, third row seating and 17 inch wheels. All are available as stand-alones.
This model is powered by a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder engine, supported by Toyota's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence system. VVT-i increases the engine output while limiting emissions and improving the fuel efficiency. The engine produces 166 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque, good for towing 1500 pounds. All 2.4L RAVs use a four speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. This front wheel drive model is the most fuel efficient, at 24/30 mpg.

In 2006 Toyota totally reinvented their popular crossover SUV, building from a new platform and offering a more potent engine. The bizarre toy-like appearance was abandoned along with the small Corolla platform, in favor of a larger and more mature-looking body. The new RAV4 features a longer wheelbase and an additional two feet in length.
The base trim is available with both engines and drive trains, interchangeable for four total combinations. This model houses the 2.4 liter four cylinder engine, which supplies the 3600 pound SUV with 166 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy for this RAV4 variation is estimated at 23/27 mpg. The electronically controlled full-time 4WD drive system sends most of the power to the front wheels, but automatically redistributes power to the rear when a loss of traction is detected. The system also features a locking mode with continuous 50/50 power distribution, ideal for slick conditions.
Even the entry level RAV4 models are finished with an abundance of convenience features, including CD audio system that will recognize Mp3 CDs, power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, and privacy glass. Every RAV gets Toyota's Star Safety System: with Vehicle Stability Control + Traction Control, and ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist. This package falls between the base and the Limited with respect to price, but this trim offers a unique presentation. It is differentiated by 18-inch alloy wheels, fender flares, color-coordinated door handles and a roof rack. The RAV4 Sport also features a sport-tuned suspension and a more responsive steering system.
All drive trains and engines are available with the Sport. The entry point for this trim is equipped with two wheel drive and a four cylinder engine. The 2.4 liter inline four produces 166 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque, and it is paired with a four speed automatic transmission. Torque is sufficient for 1500 pounds in tow, but the V-6 bumps up capacity by 2000 pounds. The fuel efficiency is best with this engine and drive train combination, rated at 24/30 mpg.
All RAVs have a long list of standard safety features, and side-seat and side-curtain airbags are added to the list for 2007. Toyota's Star Safety System is also found in all models, providing some extra security with Vehicle Stability Control + Traction Control, and ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist.

The 2007 RAV4 is highly configurable, thanks to a variety of engine, trim level, and drive train combinations. This is the second year for the third generation RAV, which received a total redesign in 2006. Seat-side and side-curtain airbags are made standard for 2007, and the optional JBL sound system is now equipped with Bluetooth and steering wheel controls.
This RAV4 takes one step beyond the line's entry point, by upgrading to a larger engine. The 2.4 liter inline four is replaced with a powerful 3.5 liter V-6. A new transmission is also included. The Dual VVT-i engine supplies the 3400 SUV with 269 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque, and it is mated to a more refined five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Towing capacity jumps by a ton here, literally, from 1500 to 3500 pounds. V-6 models are also eligible for a special tow package which adds ease and safety to the process. The fuel economy for the V-6 is estimated at 22/29 mpg with two-wheel drive.
The base level RAV4 is well-appointed for its price, which is just $2000 short of the most upscale model. An MP3-compatible CD audio system, power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, privacy glass are all standard. All V-6s automatically upgrade to 17-inch wheels.

The most modestly priced Toyota SUV series is also available with an upscale finish. Toyota's luxurious Limited trim finish can be applied to the RAV4, for a mere $2000 price hike. On other Toyota models, Limited versions can be set apart by more than $5000. All RAVs get side-seat and side-curtain airbags as standard safety items for 2007. The crossover SUV remains mostly untouched, after a full overhaul in 2006.
While the RAV4's Limited trim many not offer all the amenities of more extensive Toyota models, it is still a considerable step above the other RAVs. In addition to the across-the-board features like full power accessories, cruise control and privacy glass, the Limited adds 17-inch wheels, a power driver's seat, an in-dash CD changer, power-fold outside mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. Options like leather seats, heated seats, and the rear seat DVD entertainment system are only offered with this trim. A fully loaded RAV4 jumps significantly in price.
Regardless of the trim level, all RAVs are offered with both engines and drive trains. This variation is the best for fuel efficiency, at 24/30 mpg, but it is not ideal for those seeking power and capability. The 2.4 liter four cylinder engine supplies the 2WD drive train with 166 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque, and it is teamed with a four speed automatic transmission. Towing ability is limited to 1500 pounds on this model. Power is sent to the front wheels, and a limited slip differential is included.

The RAV4 entered its third generation in 2006, after a full overhaul produced a larger and more mature SUV. The overall length grew by two feet, and a longer wheelbase allowed for a significant increase in cabin room. There are twelve different RAV styles available this year, thanks to a trio of trim finishes each available with four engine and drive train combinations.
The RAV4 Sport is the mid-level trim for Toyota's popular crossover SUV. The Sport has a more athletic appearance, created by the inclusion of 18-inch wheels, color-coordinated door handles, and fender flares. Faster-response steering and a sport-tuned suspension have also been added. All Sports come a roof rack, full power accessories including mirrors, tinted glass, cruise control, and an MP3 CD compatible six speaker sound system. Options include a JBL sound system upgrade and a power moon roof.
This model also includes Toyota's electronically controlled On-Demand 4WD system. Fuel efficiency is optimized by a unique power distribution that drives the front wheels on dry roads. When a potential slip is detected, power is sent to the rear for extra stability. A 4WD Lock feature allows the driver to fix a 50/ 50 front and rear power distribution for snowy and icy conditions. Those who frequently tow should opt for the V-6, which increases the pulling capacity from 1500 to 3500 pounds.

There are twelve variations of the 2007 Toyota RAV4, with three trims, two engines, and two drive trains to select from. The base trim includes this powerful and capable 4x4 version, which adds a larger engine and Toyota's electronically controlled 4WD-i system. The side-seat and side-curtain airbags are new standard safety features this year.
The base trim level includes full power accessories, cruise control, factory-tinted windows, an MP3 CD compatible audio system, and air conditioning. Options availability increases with price, and this trim is eligible for only a select group of options. The V-6 models have 17-inch wheels and may also be equipped with a special towing package that allows for the hauling of 3500 pounds.
The newly available engine option is a 3.5 liter V-6, enhanced by Toyota's Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology. The Dual VVT-i system adjusts both the intake and the exhaust camshaft for even better power output, while lowing emissions and improving fuel efficiency. This V-6 produces 269 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to an electronically controlled five speed automatic transmission. Despite the added power and 4WD-related mechanical bulk, this 3600 pound SUV still receives a very desirable EPA rating of 21/28 mpg.

The RAV4 was completely redesigned for the previous model year. A more grown up looking body replaced the previous bubble shape, and a larger engine option became available. The newest RAV is carried over from 2006, and a few additional safety features have been added.
The Sport package gives the RAV4 a more aggressive presentation, adding 18 inch wheels and fender flares. This model also includes a roof rack and color-keyed door handles. A stiffer suspension and more responsive steering system also set this model apart. The RAV4 Sport is outfitted with all the base features, including air conditioning, a CD audio system, cruise control, tinted glass, telescoping wheel, and power accessories.
This model receives the recently added 3.5 liter V-6, which increases both horsepower and torque by a very wide margin. Horsepower jumps from 166 to 269, and torque goes from 165 to 246 pound-feet. The disproportionate power boost can be attributed to the Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence system, which regulates both the intake and exhaust camshafts to produce more power, lower emissions, and higher fuel economy. All V-6s upgrade to a five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, and also increase the RAV's towing capacity by 2000 pounds.

Toyota's popular crossover SUV is offered in twelve different variations in 2007, due to a variety of trim level, engine, and drive train configurations. The Limited is the highest trim, and this model adds the extra security of 4WD. Not much is new for 2007, after a full revision for the previous model year. Seat-side and side-curtain airbags are now standard.
The RAV is powered by a modest 2.4 liter DOHC inline four engine, which generates 166 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. All four cylinder engines are mated to a four speed automatic transmission. If you need to tow, look elsewhere (V-6), because the maximum capacity for the 2.4L engine is 1500 pounds. The 4WD system sends the power to the front wheels in normal driving conditions, and only redistributes to the rear wheels when a slip is detected. A 50/50 distribution lock can be enabled, for continuously slick driving conditions. This results in strong fuel efficiency for a midsize 4x4, at 23/27 mpg.

The most significant piece of news for the third generation RAV4 was the arrival of a potent new V-6 engine. The 2006 revisions also produced a much larger crossover SUV, by doing away with the Corolla build platform. The 2007 model is unchanged, but some additional standard safety features have been added.
The new engine is a 3.5 liter V-6, with the more advanced Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology. Dual VVT-i manages both the intake and the exhaust camshafts, improving power, emissions, and fuel efficiency beyond its exceptional VVT predecessor. The result is 269 horsepower, 246 pound-feet of torque, 22/29 mpg fuel economy, and an ultra low emissions rating. The RAV will speed from 0 to 60 in about seven seconds with this engine. The transmission has been upgraded to a more refined five-speed automatic.
The Limited trim package adds several luxury and convenience features to an already long list of standard features. Additions include 17-inch wheels, a power driver's seat, an in-dash CD changer, power-fold outside mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. A JBL audio upgrade, leather, moon roof, and rear seat DVD entertainment system are all optional. The navigation system is not available with any RAV4.

The 2007 Toyota RAV4 entered the second year of its third generation, following a total redesign in 2006. This year, the midsize crossover SUV adds side-seat and side-curtain airbags to standard safety item roster. Aside from this addition, the RAV is carried over for 2007. Like the 4Runner and Highlander models, the RAV4 is extremely variable, with a variety of trim and engine options.
The RAV4 Sport is offered in four distinct variations, and this specific model is the most powerful and capable. The new 3.5 liter V-6 provides the 3600 pound SUV with 269 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque. That's an increase of more than 100 horsepower over the 2.4 liter engine. The V-6 is enhanced by Toyota's newer Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence system, and mated to an electronically controlled five speed automatic transmission. The RAV earns an ultra low emissions rating, and an EPA estimate of 21/28 mpg. The V-6 can be equipped with a special towing package, which allows it to haul 3500 pounds.
The Sport models are finished with fender flares and 18-inch wheels, and its athletic appearance is backed up by a sport-tuned suspension and a more responsive steering system. Other standard features include power windows and door locks, air conditioning, a roof rack, privacy glass, a six speaker CD sound system, and cruise control.
