The “Lemon Detector” evaluation mechanic claimed there was a hum when driving (and it could be wheel bearings on 1-wheel) - and reduced the value by $1,000. I explained it was the roof racks that caused the hum and I could remove them to prove it - but he said he was done with the evaluation and would not reevaluate.

High offer, then inspection, then lower offer. The car selling and buying experience from here or anywhere else is exhausting and shouldn’t need to be that way. Consumer pays the premium on both ends and dealers

Cargurus offered the highest for my sale. I received a call to schedule my pick up. Great! First available was for a Friday 3 weeks away, however. The day before pick up, I got another call to reschedule for the following Tuesday because somehow they forgot about the mechanical inspection needing to be completed. Fine... Got a call from the mechanic to schedule for Sunday at 10am. 45 minutes later I received another call from him to cancel it because he was told "they doubled up on the order." Monday came and I finally got a new mechanic to call and schedule his inspection - luckily he was able to fit me in that evening. He was great. Right before he showed up, I received another call to reschedule my pick up AGAIN because they need 24 hrs after the mechanic inspection. Pick up now scheduled for Wednesday.
Later that evening another call came in to confirm pick up by a guy for Tuesday. I told him they had moved pick up another day later. He was as frustrated as I was.
Tuesday rolls around and luckily I was able to talk the lady who was trying to schedule for Wednesday pick up to go ahead with pick up Tuesday evening.
She.....was.....so.......slow. I was hoping I could sign the paperwork, she issue the Bill of Sale, and I'd be able to get back to my 3 kids. Not the case. She took all sorts of pictures (now the 3rd set - mine, mechanic's, now her's,) commented on a few things I had already reported and gone over with the mechanic, and THEN didn't even know what was going on with the Bill of Sale. I was fed up at this point, told her to go on and that I'd get the BOS from cargurus myself. I was just DONE with the whole process by the end. Cargurus customer service and text support team was awesome. These issues I had were probably more because of the CarOffer partners not having their act together, but I don't know.

Dropped price too much after inspection

I fully disclosed car's problems (tear in fabric on back of set facing the cargo area, and scratches on rear corner plastic panel). They were also evident in the photo's and car video. I received independent estimates to repair both that totaled less than $500. Yet after a very very rigorous inspection in which the mechanic praised the car and said the tires were basically new, Cargurus cut the price by $1600 just hours before the pickup and refused to negotiate. I caved having already told several other buyers it was sold as cars=gurus claimed they very rarely reduce the price after inspection. Yet it was clear that they were hunting for anything they could to drop he price. Their stock has been falling and the company struggling but cutting costs by reneging on offer prices is not going to help them.
