1- your customer service is horrible. I had to go though 4 CSRs just for someone to finally get me to the correct department.
2-On the day of pickup the CSR totally failed & you ended up taking my car without the proper documentation being signed.
The only person that could help me didn’t respond as they left early for the day. The car was picked up on Friday and the paperwork wasn’t signed until Monday. I called your customer service & they ensured me that all paperwork was completed & that I would receive the ACH in 5-7 business days.
That was another mistake.

the process stated for pickup and documents including payment were not followed. Very confusing! Once a third party hauler was assigned, nothing went as advertised. I talked to the hauler the day before pickup and he had no idea he was working for car offer and did not know the process. I called car offer that day and was assured the driver would "walk me through it". Driver arrived the next day with no knowledge. He and I talked to customer service with no help. I did not get a bill of sale until over a day later to sign which meant I could not get paid. It wasn't clear when the check would be made good. I waited over 24 hours after pickup and deposited the check . When I got home from the bank I got a text that finally said the check was good, but wait 3 hours for the process to be seen by my bank. Fortunately, the check did not bounce. You should be clear up front that a text will be sent when the check is made good and no one should give up their car without a bill of sale at the time of pickup.

Your business model did not work. Little accountability from side gigs. The indpector had to return 3 times because he kept forgetting something. The individual responsible for pick up came 3 hours late. Very inconvenient.

Car gurus offered me one price, then took it back. Offered $900 less because of some oxidation in the paint. Then, they gave me a pick up date, but were over a week late. No money till pick up. I could have sold it sooner for more had I not contracted with them. I would never sell to them again. Disappointed.

Difficult experience getting to the finish line.

There are several other companies to sell to. CarGurus puts you through many hassles and hurdles.

Had an agreed price, they inspected the car. Reduced offer by nearly 10% for tires, which just passed inspection. Sent check for reduced offer. Cashed the check, but they put a stop payment on the check after they picked up the car. I only noticed this when I went through my bank statement. There was NO notice they put the check hold. Dishonest!

The logistics need work. I had to remind them that I needed a mechanic to see car before sale even though they promised one would call but never did. Then the mechanical inspection resulted in a $700 reduction in offer due to “worn” tires (duh, it’s a used car after all) and supposed “paint damage on rear bumper” (I swear non-existent, just BS to lower offer! Oh, and then waiting two hours for car to be picked up, only to be notified he wasn’t coming at determined hour and they’d send somebody later! Sheesh, I would have backed out at the mechanic stage but I had invested so much time in following their rules I felt trapped into the sale. So, no, bad!

Cargurus makes it sound like they give you an offer and that when you accept, you schedule quickly for a pick up and that's that. This is a lie.
They give you an offer, and take weeks to actually get to the sale. During that time, they will continue to reduce the price they offer you.
They put you in a position where you need to sale, because of their delayed time line, take advantage, and give you much less money than their offer when you agreed to sale.
I would NEVER recommend to sell to Cargurus.
