2022 INFINITI QX60 Reviews Summary

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a premium midsize three-row crossover SUV with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD). Slotting into the Infiniti SUV lineup between the two-row QX50 and the full-size three-row QX80, the QX60 aims at the “just right” area of the market with a healthy dose of luxury, technology, and driving satisfaction.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Reviews Summary

Jeep is now a luxury brand. That's why the 2022 Grand Cherokee L can ask, with a straight face, that you pay up to $70,000 for the privilege of ownership. But because Jeep is a proudly American brand, a war veteran that helped Allied troops defeat fascism, the company has earned the kind of unvarnished reputation and universal praise given only to a handful of U.S. presidents.

As such, a $60,000 Wrangler or a $100,000 Grand Wagoneer doesn't seem snooty, while a Mercedes-Benz or a Lexus sure does. Jeep's heritage as a hardcore 4x4 brand and its newer image as a bougie city truck maker can coexist. We took a Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve across Tennessee to prove it.

2022 INFINITI QX60

7/10

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

9/10

Infiniti completely revamped the QX60 for the 2022 model year, introducing a new exterior design, interior, powertrains, and technologies. This redesign mirrored updates to its Nissan cousin, the Pathfinder, as both SUVs utilized the Nissan D platform. The QX60’s journey began with the 2013 JX, which was renamed in 2014 to align with Infiniti’s new naming conventions. The 2022 QX60 marked the beginning of the crossover’s second generation.

The exterior of the QX60 featured a striking design with a prominent grille, slim LED headlights, and oversized air intakes. The long hood and steeply-raked windshield added elegance, while blacked-out pillars created a floating roof effect. The top Autograph trim level included a contrasting black roof, enhancing this effect. The rear design was tasteful, with "INFINITI" spelled out in chrome letters across the liftgate. Inside, the QX60 felt spacious and luxurious, especially in the Autograph trim with quilted leather upholstery and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L, introduced as a 2021 model, was 11.4 inches longer than the standard two-row Grand Cherokee to accommodate a third row of seats. The wheelbase was also extended by five inches for more second-row legroom and wider rear doors. The extra length blended seamlessly into the body, making the standard Grand Cherokee appear truncated. The Grand Cherokee L maintained Jeep’s recognizable design elements, such as the seven-slot grille and U-shaped wheel arches, but with modernized lighting and improved paint finish and panel fit.

The interior of the Grand Cherokee L was luxurious, with dual high-resolution screens, real wood, aluminum, quilted Nappa leather, and a faux-suede roof. The design and tactile quality were comparable to a Mercedes, despite not sharing any parts. The spacious interior accommodated passengers comfortably, even in the third row, and the optional tan leather added a touch of luxury. The Grand Cherokee L was designed for comfort and style, making it a standout in its class.

Performance

2022 INFINITI QX60

7/10

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

7/10

The 2022 INFINITI QX60 featured a nine-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous CVT, which significantly improved the driving experience. The new transmission shifted cleanly and crisply, enhancing acceleration and deceleration. The QX60 was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, producing 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy was estimated at 21 mpg city/26 mpg highway/23 mpg combined for FWD models and 20 mpg city/25 mpg highway/22 mpg combined for AWD models. The suspension was reworked for a smooth and serene ride, with MacPherson struts up front and an independent multilink setup in the rear. The QX60 was designed for highway and suburban driving, offering comfort and stability.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L offered two familiar engines: a 3.6-liter V6 and a 5.7-liter V8, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The V6 produced 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the V8 delivered 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The V6 struggled with the vehicle’s weight, requiring high revs to summon power, and the engine noise was noticeable. The V8, available only on higher trims, provided a more satisfying performance. Fuel economy for the V6 was estimated at 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway/21 mpg combined, while the V8 was rated at 14/22/17. The Grand Cherokee L’s chassis was impressive, with a stellar ride composure and steering feel. The optional air suspension offered five ride height settings, enhancing comfort and off-road capability.

The QX60 provided 14.5 cubic feet of luggage space behind the third row, 41.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 75.4 cubic feet with both rows folded. The towing capacity was 3,500 pounds, expandable to 6,000 pounds with the towing package.

The Grand Cherokee L offered ample space in all rows, with second-row captain’s chairs standard and a 60/40 split bench seat optional.
