Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander stands out as a practical, comfort-focused midsize SUV rather than a flashy one. Toyota’s long-running formula emphasizes a smooth ride, quiet refinement, and everyday usability, and the Highlander has built its reputation on being easy to live with.

It also has a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and economy, which helps explain why it remains appealing to buyers who want a dependable family vehicle more than an engaging one. 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful share of the market to target if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander stands out as a practical, comfort-focused midsize SUV with a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and economy. Toyota’s formula here is built around easy everyday ownership, and that’s a major part of the Highlander’s appeal.

For used buyers, that generally points to lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a family SUV that’s meant to do a lot of daily-duty work.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the car’s condition and mileage. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall wear, interior condition, and signs of past damage or heavy family use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,887 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,472, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $42,159 sits slightly below last year's $45,399.

That price movement suggests the Highlander has softened enough to improve your entry point as a buyer, while still holding enough value to remain a credible resale vehicle later. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with shopping when prices were higher. For a future seller, the current market still supports a broad audience because the Highlander’s reputation for practicality and reliability remains a selling point.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary path if you want a comfort-focused, well-supported Highlander with a softer market than last year. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 gives you a strong mix of inventory, condition, and pricing momentum.
