How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Taos cost?

Prices have softened 5.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,238 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Taos earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as one of the roomiest entries in the subcompact SUV class, and that extra size translates directly into passenger comfort. You also get a higher seating position, practical utility, composed driving manners, and a cabin that prioritizes everyday usability. For shoppers who want space and comfort without moving up to a larger SUV, it fits that use case well. With 39.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers a meaningful number of attractive opportunities.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Taos benefits from a more complete safety suite, since the full IQ.Drive package is standard across the lineup. It also offers a familiar Volkswagen feel with composed driving manners and a practical cabin layout. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that earlier Taos model years had reliability issues, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report to confirm the car’s background and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, interior electronics, and overall cabin condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience. Focus on how the vehicle drives in everyday use, especially if you’re considering an all-wheel-drive model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,238 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,382, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

The current average of $20,740 sits slightly below last year's $21,973.

That price movement suggests the Taos has softened enough to create better buying conditions now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays competitive. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The model’s broad appeal as a roomy, practical small SUV should continue to support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,425, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $20,740 average.
• It offers available all-wheel drive and a roomy interior for four people.

The 2024 is the better pick if you want the stronger overall market mix of satisfaction, clean inventory, and softened pricing. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
