Used 2022 Lexus ES for Sale nearProvidence, RI

How much does the 2022 Lexus ES cost?

Prices have softened 1.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 963 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus ES earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, reliable performance, and luxurious feel. The model also gets credit for being a strong fit for safety-conscious buyers, and the multiple powertrain choices give you flexibility if you want to prioritize comfort, efficiency, or stronger acceleration.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, performance is fairly pedestrian, and the base engine is underwhelming. That said, the ES is aimed at you if you want a calm, traditional luxury sedan rather than something flashy or sporty.

The market also looks supportive, with 41.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliable performance and a car you can count on, while also emphasizing its smooth, trouble-free character. The expert evaluation also describes it as a dependable, easygoing luxury sedan with a calm driving demeanor and a reputation for value.

Lexus also includes service-oriented ownership perks, including Service Connect notifications for impending and scheduled maintenance and service appointments for the first 10 years.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not overused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus ES?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, infotainment controls, and overall condition, since luxury features can be expensive to sort out later. Focus on whether the car has been cared for consistently, because that matters more than mileage alone on a used luxury sedan.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim starts with 17-inch wheels, while 18-inch and 19-inch wheels appear as you move up the lineup. Upper trims add a more upscale feel, but the base setup is the most straightforward if you want to keep costs down.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with AWD, a 3.5-liter V6 with front-wheel drive, or a hybrid setup with a four-cylinder and electric motor. The hybrid stands out for efficiency, while the V6 is the stronger choice if you want more passing power.
• Safety package: Every ES comes with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, including pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, left-turn intersection support, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign assist, Enhanced Lane-Tracing Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Intelligent High Beam Control. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Upper trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and navigation plus the Mark Levinson audio system are available higher in the lineup.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder AWD model is rated at 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway/28 mpg combined, the V6 returns 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway/26 mpg combined, and the hybrid delivers 43 mpg city/44 mpg highway/44 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus ES is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Luxury, F Sport, and Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the most affordable way into the ES, and it gives you the core luxury-sedan experience with standard safety tech, an 8-inch touchscreen, and the quiet, comfortable character the model is known for.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It adds more premium equipment while keeping the ES focused on comfort and refinement.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportiest appearance and a slightly more aggressive setup, but keep in mind that the model still leans more toward comfort than true performance.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the most upscale ES experience and are willing to pay for it.

Every ES includes Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, so you get a strong safety baseline no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus ES?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with solid deal availability and a healthy supply of listings to compare.

• Deal availability: 41.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 963 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,668, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $34,915 sits slightly below last year's $35,427.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you may not see rapid appreciation, but the ES still benefits from steady demand in the luxury-sedan space.

Its strong owner satisfaction rating should help support demand when you eventually resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES safe?

The 2022 Lexus ES earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard, and it includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, left-turn intersection support, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign assist, Enhanced Lane-Tracing Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Intelligent High Beam Control. Standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert adds another layer of everyday protection.

That strong safety picture is one of the ES’s biggest strengths, and it helps explain why safety-conscious buyers are drawn to it.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 41.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a calm luxury-sedan feel with strong safety and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,267, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,915 average.
• It emphasizes comfort, quietness, and value.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of deal availability, accident-free inventory, and a slightly softer price trend, the 2022 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core Lexus ES comfort formula.
