Used 2022 Lexus ES for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2022 Lexus ES cost?

Prices have softened 2.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 925 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus ES earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, reliable performance, and luxurious feel. The model also gets credit for being a strong fit if you value a quiet, safety-conscious, easygoing luxury sedan with multiple powertrain choices.

The main trade-offs are its uninspired styling and fairly pedestrian performance, and the base engine is described as underwhelming. That makes it best for you if comfort and refinement matter more than excitement.

Good and great deals account for 37.0% of listings, which is a healthy sign that there are worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliable performance, and drivers describe it as a car they feel good about owning for the long haul. The expert evaluation also emphasizes its calm, predictable driving character and its ability to handle daily use smoothly.

The ownership picture is helped by the included maintenance and service connectivity features, including service notifications and long trial coverage for connected support. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright dependability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus ES?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives at low and highway speeds. Since this model is aimed at comfort and refinement, pay close attention to cabin wear, electronics, and whether the ride still feels smooth and quiet.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the essentials, while higher trims add more upscale equipment and features. If you want the best value, focus on the trim that gives you the equipment you’ll actually use without pushing the price too far up.
• Powertrain: You can choose among four-cylinder, V6, and hybrid setups, so think about whether you want efficiency, stronger acceleration, or a balance of both.
• Safety package: Every ES includes Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 with pre-collision braking and pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign assist, Enhanced Lane-Tracing Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Intelligent High Beam Control. Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also included.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa+Lexus compatibility. Upper trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch screen, and navigation plus the Mark Levinson audio system are available higher up.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder model is rated at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, while the V6 returns 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The hybrid is rated at 43 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus ES is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Luxury, F Sport, Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and the core ES experience. It gives you the standard safety suite and the basic infotainment setup, so it works well if you care more about comfort and value than extra luxury features.
• Luxury: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range. If you want a more premium daily driver, this is the trim to focus on.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance and a more aggressive personality, but keep in mind that the ES is still tuned more for comfort than excitement.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale ES experience and are willing to pay for it.

Every ES includes Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, plus blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 925 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,610, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $34,317 sits slightly below last year's $35,114.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this model has strong owner satisfaction, demand should remain steady among shoppers who want a comfortable luxury sedan. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES safe?

The 2022 Lexus ES earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every ES comes with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, left-turn intersection support, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign assist, Enhanced Lane-Tracing Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Intelligent High Beam Control. It also includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and 10 airbags.

That standard safety coverage is a major strength, and the model’s top crash-test results reinforce it. For used buyers, the main takeaway is that you should still confirm the exact equipment on the car you’re considering, since some convenience and parking aids are not standard on every trim.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 combines strong safety ratings with a broad powertrain lineup and a calm, comfort-first character.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,985, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,317 average.
• It is a comfortable, quiet, and reliable luxury sedan with a roomy cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing trend, and safety credentials, the 2022 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter value play.
